Market Signals – where do they come from?

We started by monitoring the number of LinkedIn job ads in 18 European countries in Week 13 of 2020 (mid-March) – and extended our observations to ultimately 38 countries in Europe since Week 15. This allows us to measure a KPI that gives quite a good feel of the overall trend on the global job market.

Career Angels analyze the collected figures and complement the quantitative data with detailed and personal statements & insights of CEOs, HR Directors, investors, board members, candidates and headhunters that we know personally. We observe if and what kind of trends there are to leverage them into better candidate management & more effective job search methods.

These are not usual times, so we decided to share our market signals by the end of each week. If the country / context is important, we’ll add them. Otherwise, we’ll keep it general for confidentiality.

What is the goal of an interview? (video)

What is the goal of an interview?

An interview process consists of three stages: before, during and after the interview – but what is the goal of an interview? The answer might surprise you! Additionally looking at data: according to our statistics, 29-34% of candidates do not reply to an invitation to participate in a recruitment process even if the invite is sent within 24-48 hours upon their application. When it comes to the interview itself, approx. 90% of those who show up to an interview are not fully prepared! Not what you would expect, right?

This video was recorded during one of the 16 webinars we produced last year that attracted over 1000 participants from all over the world who have spontaneously sent us feedback like this one: “I now have the full picture of the recruitment process and not only of its parts. I received information on both a basic / fundamental level and a strategic one.” (Consultant)

Thanks to the overwhelmingly positive feedback, we’ve decided to design a course called “Every step of the job search explained – backed by research!” which you’ll find on Udemy. Here a sneak peek of the content on the introduction to the setting the goal of an interview during the job search process.

Successful job search: all about timing (video)

Successful job search: all about timing

Job search being a full-time commitment, candidates have to know all about the perfect timing in order to be successful. Assuming that everything is well-prepared and that a candidate uses all four job hunting channels at the same time – speculative introduction, contacting headhunters, networking and applying to job ads – the job search takes about 8 to 12 weeks.

This video was recorded during one of the 16 webinars we produced last year that attracted over 1000 participants from all over the world who have spontaneously sent us feedback like this one: “I would definitely recommend your webinars not only to people looking for a job “right now“, but also to those who think of changing and who want to be well-prepared. I believe that they are useful to anyone, as the know-how is prepared and presented in a very concentrated manner.” (Manager)

Thanks to the overwhelmingly positive feedback, we’ve decided to design a course called “Every step of the job search explained – backed by research!” which you’ll find on Udemy. Here a sneak peek of the content on how to estimate the job search duration.
