We started by monitoring the number of LinkedIn job ads in 18 European countries in Week 13 of 2020 (mid-March) – and extended our observations to ultimately 38 countries in Europe since Week 15. This allows us to measure a KPI that gives quite a good feel of the overall trend on the global job market.

Career Angels analyze the collected figures and complement the quantitative data with detailed and personal statements & insights of CEOs, HR Directors, investors, board members, candidates and headhunters that we know personally. We observe if and what kind of trends there are to leverage them into better candidate management & more effective job search methods.

These are not usual times, so we decided to share our market signals by the end of each week. If the country / context is important, we’ll add them. Otherwise, we’ll keep it general for confidentiality.

CV-19 has accelerated many trends, including (or especially!) those related to HR and recruitment. Companies that want to hire valuable candidates – who don’t quit after three months – have to make sure they keep up with the newest trends. What’s even more important: they need to implement new strategies in the right way.

How to help a candidate who:
– hasn’t been able to find a job for 9 months or longer?
– claims that “I haven’t received any job offer because of the pandemic”
– hears feedback like “… your competencies and experience are amazing, but not your age…”
– thinks about giving up, “I follow websites with job ads for hours, I’ve sent dozens or even hundreds of CVs and… nothing?!”

As part of our CSR initiatives, in May 2021, we started recruiting for a program following the “individual outplacement” formula, which aims at supporting people who have not been able to find a job for a long time. Initially, we assumed that we would recruit 3 people, but eventually we chose 4 people who started the job search process with us on June 7 (more about the recruitment criteria and detailed structure at the end).
