Career Advisory postgraduate studies – after the second meeting

I should change my job, but I’m not doing anything about it.”, “I feel like banging my head against a brick wall, I’ve stopped developing myself”, “I need to rebrand”, “I’m stuck and have no idea what to do next”… sounds familiar? Everyone will be facing an important decision sooner or later. It comes along with resistance, fear of change or getting outside of my comfort zone. These are our clients’ challenges, which every career consultant deals with regularly. In addition, there are changing trends in the labour market, automation, the influence of technology, or – like nowa pandemic, which has changed the behaviour of the market’s players.

To be able to advise successfully, support and motivate clients in making life-changing decisions, knowledge about psychology, coaching and working with resistance to change is necessary.

The psychology of change. Working with resistance. Career coaching.

The second weekend started with the topic “The Psychology of Change” on November 27 at 8:45 with Ph.D. Paweł Fortuna. As a warm-up, he asked the students the following question: “Is there a need to go outside one’s comfort zone?” During lectures he mentioned also:

Students’ thoughts after the second meeting

All of the lecturers were fantastic. Only 1.5h with Mrs. Bożena Wujec is a crime :) I think that she should have a class with us for at least half of the day. Very interesting and eye-opening topic. Paweł Fortuna – brilliant. He interested us so much, that we had just a quick break and we went on with the material. He made us aware what is behind people’s behaviour in the change process. Very interesting and inspiring. Klaudia was also perfect. At the end of the classes, we made a group rebellion 😀, it was not enough for us. It was great to work with her. Coaching turned out to be more difficult than we thought. In my opinion, these studies were the best self-development decision I could have made, and I’m very content with it. I’m waiting impatiently for every meeting.”

For me, both days were very interesting. Lecturer X and Y is a completely different story. The first one gave us a lot of freedom and lack of structure, while the second worked with a plan. But it doesn’t influence my rating. Both classes were 5/5 and for me it was the awakening of my curiosity and craving for knowledge. […] The classes in coaching introduced in our heads a little bit of mess about the differences between the coach, career adviser and consultant.”

We will keep you informed about our students, as well as the progress of our studies. In the meantime, you can read about an example of a frustrated client who was searching for a job and didn’t see expected outcomes.
