Speaker: Anna Zadrożna
For/mat: online, for registered students of POLIMI Graduate School of Management
Language: English
About the event: The objective of the workshop is to build awareness on how to negotiate your salary based on research data – one preview: Linda Babcock’s study for her book “Women Don’t Ask” reveals that: 7% of women attempted to negotiate their first salaries while 57% of men did, and of those who did negotiate: they got a 7% increase. 7% is not much? Stanford negotiation professor Margaret A. Neale puts it into context for us: “If you and your counterpart who negotiated are treated identically by the company – you are given the same raises and promotions – 35 years later, you will have to work eight more years to be as wealthy as your counterpart at retirement.”. If you’d like to avoid a scenario like that – join us during the webinar! Main topics covered will be:
- gender differences (and consequences)
- myth busting surrounding salary negotiations (e.g. “the cheapest candidate wins”)
- salary vs. compensation package
- how to best prepare for negotiations, incl. timing
- types of candidates and the role of the recruiter
- practical tips
