Under the supervision of the Director of ONN, the Deputy Director is responsible for creating, developing and mobilizing an Engagement Network of high-level current and former diplomats, government officials and other experts to help ONN further its mission of nuclear weapons risk reduction. ONN has recruited a diverse and elite Engagement Network, but the concrete processes and systems for gathering information from the Engagement Network, synthesizing it alongside ONN’s open source analyses, and strategies for engagement have yet to be established. Thus, one of the first and most important tasks of the Deputy Director will be to design such a system and build a small team around it.

The Deputy Director will also be responsible for maintaining oversight of the Datayo software platform, including through regular meetings with the software developer and the analysts, to ensure that the platform works as intended and that the right new features are added in a timely and cost-effective manner. Additionally, the Deputy Director will work directly with OEF’s Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer to secure funding partnerships to help support the development and data costs underlying Datayo.

The Deputy Director will be well organized, flexible and enjoy the challenges of working in a culturally diverse and diplomatic environment. S/he will be a leader with excellent communication skills and be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
