Career Consultant Diary: I don’t use any private email address
Being a Career Consultant for Executives is often misunderstood or romanticized or both. Sandra Bichl, founder of Career Angels and experienced international Career Consultant, decided to bring more transparency to her/our profession by sharing random days of her work in the form of a “diary” – the delay (sometimes of a year) ensures confidentiality. This time, Sandra sheds light on a Career Angels’ initiative that helps provide a safe space for experienced managers and executives: Challenge Accepted Europe.
Challenge Accepted Europe
As Sandra shared on her LinkedIn profile, “Challenge Accepted Europe is… well, it’s a confidential group of European (senior) managers who are actively or passively looking for a job or are thinking about it. After over 2 years of meeting in person, we “moved our community online” – which of course wasn’t easy, as we had to figure out how to replicate “things that happen naturally in person” to the virtual worlds. In the current format, Career Angels moderates 3 networking rounds, ensures 30 min of compact theory, has 12 min of Q&A, but it’s also a place where “magic happens”. Content-wise, we openly and transparently talk about headhunters, LinkedIn, interviewing, etc. And I do my best to keep it as practical as possible.
It’s also a community where senior candidates support each other with the underlying understanding that’ll come back in one form or another. I really like hosting those interactive online meetings!”
